Your Guide to the Holiday Season in Baltimore

Your Guide to the Holiday Season in Baltimore

  |     |   Uncategorized

Before you travel for the holidays, get your festive fix right here in Baltimore. There’s no shortage of ways to get into the spirit in the city, from holiday light shows to a performance from the queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey.

We’ve put together a guide to help you make the most of the season. These events are great for a cozy date, a night out with friends, or a fun way to meet your neighbors. Be sure to check them out:

Make the Season Bright
The Charm City Lights are back on from November 30th until January 1st in Druid Hill Park! Did you know it takes over 250,000 lights to make this dazzling annual display?

Olde Tyme Christmas has events throughout the day on December 7th, but the showstopper is a tree lighting and lighted boat parade starting at 5:45 pm. Nothing says Christmas in Maryland quite like a light show on the harbor.

Festive Flavors
No figgy pudding here! Our next set of events is perfect for foodies. First, you can join Santa for breakfast at Mobtown Brewing on Saturday, December 14th starting at 10 am. There will be pancakes and photo ops galore.

If you can’t make breakfast, there’s also the Fell’s Point Egg Nog Tasting Tour on the 14th from 1:30-4:30 pm. Sip on some ‘nog while you shop and cast your vote for the best rendition of this beloved seasonal bev. Tickets are just $25, but they’re sure to sell out, so snag some soon.

If you’re more of a dessert person, you can still participate in a crawl! Check out the 4th annual Cookie Crawl on December 18th from 4-8 pm. Stores throughout the neighborhood will be giving out complimentary cookies.

Looking for a unique Christmas Eve activity? There’s a (3-course, gourmet, delicious!) dinner cruise departing from the Inner Harbor at 6 pm. Make sure to reserve your seats early.

Get Gifting
This season, shop small! Support our city’s talented makers and shop one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list. Two special markets are coming to Baltimore this winter.

The first is Christmas Village in Inner Harbor. They’re returning for their 11th year, featuring over 70 incredible vendors. While you peruse, you can sip on European-inspired food and drink and enjoy an abundance of ambiance.

You can also discover handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts at the Holiday Heap hosted at Space 2640. This market brings over 40 artisans to Charm City on December 14th, starting at 10 am.

More Ways to Be Merry
Holly-Days at the Maryland Zoo is one of Charm City’s all-time favorite holiday events, running through the end of the year. Each weekend is a different theme, so check out the full list.

Mobtown Brewing is also hosting a movie night this winter! They’re screening Die Hard on Friday, December 13th at 7 pm. Bring your friends and enjoy a beer or two! It’s debatably a Christmas movie, but it’s definitely a classic.

Speaking of classics, there’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey! Her Christmas Time tour is stopping in Baltimore on December 7th at CFG Bank Arena. Tickets are still available!

Last but not least, don’t miss Baltimore’s very own Polar Express. The Reindeer Railway is coming through with train rides, holiday lights, and festive fun. The event will be hosted by the B&O Railroad Museum on Sunday, December 29th from 6-8 pm.

Happy Holidays!
We can’t wait to celebrate the holiday season with you, Spinnaker residents. Let us know if you try any of these festive activities.
