Before you travel for the holidays, get your festive fix right here in Baltimore. There’s no shortage of ways to get into the spirit in the city, from holiday light shows to a performance from the queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey.

We’ve put together a guide to help you make the most of the season. These events are great for a cozy date, a night out with friends, or a fun way to meet your neighbors. Be sure to check them out:

Make the Season Bright
The Charm City Lights are back on from November 30th until January 1st in Druid Hill Park! Did you know it takes over 250,000 lights to make this dazzling annual display?

Olde Tyme Christmas has events throughout the day on December 7th, but the showstopper is a tree lighting and lighted boat parade starting at 5:45 pm. Nothing says Christmas in Maryland quite like a light show on the harbor.

Festive Flavors
No figgy pudding here! Our next set of events is perfect for foodies. First, you can join Santa for breakfast at Mobtown Brewing on Saturday, December 14th starting at 10 am. There will be pancakes and photo ops galore.

If you can’t make breakfast, there’s also the Fell’s Point Egg Nog Tasting Tour on the 14th from 1:30-4:30 pm. Sip on some ‘nog while you shop and cast your vote for the best rendition of this beloved seasonal bev. Tickets are just $25, but they’re sure to sell out, so snag some soon.

If you’re more of a dessert person, you can still participate in a crawl! Check out the 4th annual Cookie Crawl on December 18th from 4-8 pm. Stores throughout the neighborhood will be giving out complimentary cookies.

Looking for a unique Christmas Eve activity? There’s a (3-course, gourmet, delicious!) dinner cruise departing from the Inner Harbor at 6 pm. Make sure to reserve your seats early.

Get Gifting
This season, shop small! Support our city’s talented makers and shop one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list. Two special markets are coming to Baltimore this winter.

The first is Christmas Village in Inner Harbor. They’re returning for their 11th year, featuring over 70 incredible vendors. While you peruse, you can sip on European-inspired food and drink and enjoy an abundance of ambiance.

You can also discover handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts at the Holiday Heap hosted at Space 2640. This market brings over 40 artisans to Charm City on December 14th, starting at 10 am.

More Ways to Be Merry
Holly-Days at the Maryland Zoo is one of Charm City’s all-time favorite holiday events, running through the end of the year. Each weekend is a different theme, so check out the full list.

Mobtown Brewing is also hosting a movie night this winter! They’re screening Die Hard on Friday, December 13th at 7 pm. Bring your friends and enjoy a beer or two! It’s debatably a Christmas movie, but it’s definitely a classic.

Speaking of classics, there’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey! Her Christmas Time tour is stopping in Baltimore on December 7th at CFG Bank Arena. Tickets are still available!

Last but not least, don’t miss Baltimore’s very own Polar Express. The Reindeer Railway is coming through with train rides, holiday lights, and festive fun. The event will be hosted by the B&O Railroad Museum on Sunday, December 29th from 6-8 pm.

Happy Holidays!
We can’t wait to celebrate the holiday season with you, Spinnaker residents. Let us know if you try any of these festive activities.

The sun is out and temperatures are high, so there’s no better time to get outside, enjoy the weather, and experience all the amazing summer activities Baltimore has to offer. Summer flies by in the blink of an eye, so make sure to grab your friends and soak in summer in the city while you can!

Water Taxi Cruise

Experience Baltimore’s iconic harbor in a brand new way with Harbor Taxi’s Water Cruise. This 30-minute boat ride around the Harbor is a perfect getaway with friends or family to enjoy the sunshine and see the beautiful sights Baltimore has to offer. Cruises run Thursday-Sunday and depart from the Fells Point-Broadway Pier stop.

Crabs On the Water at Captain James

Baltimore crabs are an essential part of the city’s cuisine, and no locale is as synonymous with the Baltimore staple as Captain James Crab House. Since 1979, this boat-shaped restaurant has been delivering some of Baltimore's best crab, as has the awards to prove it. Not only are their crabs delicious, but their “all you can eat” deal ensures you’ll get maximum bang for your buck!

Try a Baltimore Snowball

Almost as iconic as Baltimore crabs are Baltimore snowballs, a sweet frozen treat that’s both tasty and refreshing. The shaved ice dessert comes in a variety of flavors and can be found all over the city, including Crushed Velvet in Federal Hill. Summer nights aren’t complete without a delicious snowball, so make sure to try one as soon as possible!

Outdoor Movies at Flicks On the Hill

It’s a known fact: movies are better outside. That’s why the American Visionary Art Museum is bringing back their Flicks On the Hill series, an under-the-stars movie viewing experience. Enjoy classics such as Raiders of the Lost Ark Thursday nights at 8:30, and make sure to check out the on-site food trucks before the movie!

Volleyball at Baltimore Beach

Summer and volleyball are synonymous, and there’s no better place in Baltimore to tune up your skills and have some friendly competition than at Baltimore Beach. Featuring both drop-in and league play, Baltimore Beach is a great place for both beginners and more competitive players to enjoy the game!

Catch an Orioles Game at Camden Yards

Camden Yards is one of the best stadiums in the MLB, and Baltimore is proud to be its home. Watch Gunnar Henderson and the rest of the Orioles continue their great season and experience the electric atmosphere Camden Yards is known for. Whether you’re a diehard fan or just in it for the stadium food, Camden Yards is a must-visit this summer!

Enjoy Ice Cream at BMore Licks

If summer had an official dessert, it would be ice cream. BMore Licks is home to some of the best homemade ice cream in Baltimore. Flavors rotate daily, but some recurring favorites include Holy Cannoli, Vanilla Nutella, and Samoa. BMore Licks has been pleasing taste buds for years, so make sure to try one (or more) of their over 100 flavors!

Pool Pilates at the Four Seasons

The Four Seasons is turning pilates up a notch this summer by bringing the exercise on the pool. Using stable water rafts, the Four Seasons is able to give you a pilates class like you’ve never experienced before. Boost your strength, balance, and coordination with their hour-long session!

Get your saddles ready for the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18, a cherished Baltimore tradition which has rode its way into the hearts of millions. The world-famous horse race takes place at the Historic Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore’s Pimlico neighborhood and has been running annually since 1873.

In those years, the event has turned into more than just a race. It is a full-scale entertainment event featuring premier entertainers thrilled to bring their talents to Baltimore. Preakness Live, now relocated to offer a view of the Preakness final stretch, will be headlined by the internationally popular rapper Jack Harlow, known for his hit songs “What’s Poppin” and “First Class.” Preakness Live will also be complete with numerous pop-ups showcasing Baltimore’s rich culture.

Even if you can’t make the live event, Baltimore has plenty of places to experience the full Preakness thrill. The Point in Fells, a casual, American restaurant with a craft kitchen and handcrafted cocktails, is hosting Preakness Weekend On Point, a weekend complete with Black Eyed Susans, Preakness-themed cocktails, and the race playing on multiple big screens!

The Preakness Stakes also makes for prime at-home viewing. Invite your friends and Spinnaker Bay neighbors for a Preakness-themed viewing party with all the appropriate fixings! Black Eyed Susans are the signature drink of the race and add a refreshing twist to any watch party. A delicious mix of pineapple, orange, lime juice, vodka, and elderflower liqueur, the drink will be a fixture in your apartment well past Preakness weekend.

One way to make all viewing party attendees feel closer to the action is to introduce betting squares to the mix. Whether your party has high-stakes gamblers or people simply looking to have a casual, good-time, betting squares are a great way to up the excitement of the event and make it a memorable time for all of your guests! Some other ways to give your watch party Baltimore flair is to cook up some local cuisine favorites, such as crab cakes or Berger cookies, a delectable dessert for all occasions.

Whether you’re a die-hard horse racing fan or you’re on the more casual side, Preakness Weekend has something for you to enjoy. From deep tradition to invigorating performances to refreshing cocktails, the Preakness Stakes is a Baltimore staple which goes beyond just racing and into the culture of the city itself.

ThanksgivingEveryone loves a good Thanksgiving meal. Turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce are all November staples, but cooking all of them can be a lot of work. Luckily, Baltimore has many Thanksgiving feast takeout and dine-in options for those looking for a more relaxing Thanksgiving.

Meticulously Made Meals
Sally O’s in Highlandtown is offering a wide array of pies and sides to add depth to any thanksgiving lineup. The sides feed up to 4 people and include staples, such as mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. Order before Monday, November 20th to make sure your sides are ready on time to complement the turkey!

If you’re looking for a full, ready-to-eat meal this Thanksgiving, check out Mama’s On the Half Shell in Canton! Available for pick up November 20-23, Mama’s Full Thanksgiving Feast features roasted turkey, honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, and buttered corn bread.

With various locations throughout Baltimore, Atwater’s can help you deliver a memorable Thanksgiving no matter where your celebration is. They offer everything from full turkey dinners to homemade jams, so no matter your Thanksgiving needs, Atwater’s has you covered!

Little Havana in Federal Hill may be known for their unique Cuban food-fare, but they can also put together an amazing, classic Thanksgiving meal. Select one of their many packages, including vegetarian options, for a hearty meal you won’t forget!

SoBo Cafe is a locally owned, women-led institution in Federal Hill that has been a local favorite for a decade, and they want to help you put together the best Thanksgiving feast you possibly can with one of their prepared meals! Make this local staple a staple in your Thanksgiving tradition.

Spend less time in the kitchen and more time with friends & family by getting a Thanksgiving meal-to-go from Kneads Bake Shop in Harbor East. Feed up to 10 of your loved ones with their Thanksgiving Feast Dinner package.

Roland Park’s Corner Pantry, operated by the decorated Neill & Emily Howell, also has a wide array of take-out dining options available for Thanksgiving. From their amazing scotch eggs, to their turkey fresh from Albright farms, Corner Pantry has something for everyone to enjoy this holiday.

Delectable Desserts
Cafe Dear Leon, located in Canton, is offering pick-up desserts November 21st and 22nd! Their delicious creations, such as the Hazelnut Apple Tart and their Pecan Tart, are a wonderful addition to any Thanksgiving feast.

Sacre Sucre is celebrating a new home in Fells Point, and what better way to help them celebrate than by ordering one of their Thanksgiving dessert specials? Pre-order now to get some guaranteed crowd-pleasing croissants!

The Charmery believes in the power of gratitude, and there is no better way to show your gratitude to your loved ones than by sweetening up the holiday spread with one of their ready-to-eat desserts! Make sure everyone is happy by getting one of their ice cream pies.

Delicious Dine-In
Sometimes, getting out of the house is the best way to celebrate Thanksgiving, and if that’s the case, check out the Four Seasons Hotel’s Thanksgiving Day Brunch. Hotel guests and locals are invited to enjoy this gourmet spread, which includes Thanksgiving classics such as turkey, as well as a raw bar and a deluxe sushi station.

Another great dine-in option is the Rusty Scupper, which will host a Thanksgiving Day buffet, complete with traditional dishes and so much more. Reservations are required and limited, so act soon.

A Truly Terrific Turkey Day
Whether you’re looking to pick up dessert, enjoy a ready-to-eat meal at home, or dine out with the family, Baltimore has something for all Spinnaker residents to enjoy this Thanksgiving. So find your loosest fitting jeans, load up on turkey, and have a terrific day!

National Coffee DayCoffee lovers, rejoice—Friday, September 29, is National Coffee Day! There’s nothing quite like a fresh cup of morning brew, and here in Baltimore, we’re lucky to have so many options available to us. Let’s take a look at the best places to get coffee in Baltimore for National Coffee Day and beyond!

Ceremony Coffee
It doesn’t get more artisanal than Ceremony Coffee in Harbor Point. Whether you’re looking for a bag of single origin beans, a Cortado, or just a simple cup of coffee, Ceremony has got you covered. Be sure to try their White Shakerato for a special treat.

Kneads Bakeshop
Relatively new to the Baltimore coffee scene is Kneads in Harbor East. Their large, elegant space makes it the perfect place to grab a cup of Joe with a friend for National Coffee Day. From Espressos, to Americanos, to Lattes, Kneads has got you covered. You’ll definitely want to pair your coffee with one of their gourmet donuts!

Pitango Bakery Cafe
When you think of Pitango, you may think gelato, but did you know they also have a cafe just down the street in Fells Point? The Pitango Bakery Cafe offers a beautiful view of the harbor, and you can enjoy it while sipping a hand-crafted caffeinated beverage. From a Macchiato to a Cafe au Lait, Pitango’s coffee is truly something to be savored. You can even take home one of their house blends of beans.

Order and Chaos
If you enjoy good design and a modern aesthetic, then you’ll definitely want to check out Order and Chaos in Federal Hill. It’s connected to, and run by, an advertising agency, and you can even see into their unique office space from the shop. Their bold vibe matches their bold coffee flavors, like their Pumpkin Cheesecake Latte, or Peach Cobbler Latte.

Artifact Coffee
You’ll want to bring a friend to Artifact Coffee in Hampden for National Coffee Day. While you chat, you can share a Chemex of Ethiopian coffee. If lattes are more your style, then be sure to try the Lavender Latte, made with fresh local lavender from Star Bright Farm.

Cafe Dear Leon
Cafe Dear Leon in Canton is a true neighborhood favorite. Depending on when you go, you may have to wait in line, but it will be worth the wait! Their Pumpkin Spiced Latte, or PSL, simply cannot be beat, and who doesn’t love a good Flat White? While you’re there, be sure to pick up one of their delectable pastries!

Celebrating National Coffee Day
However you choose to celebrate National Coffee Day this September 29, be sure to tag us with your favorite cup of Joe, @SpinnakerBayApts.
